On the Japanese music front we have the rock band BACK-ON who have provided theme songs for anime series such as Eyeshield 21, Air Gear, Fairy Tail, and most recently, Gundam Build Fighters and Gundam Build Fighters Try. They have just been announced as a musical guest at the Fanime convention in San Jose, California which is set for Memorial Day Weekend (May 22-25). The band will be performing at the event’s “Musicfest,” traditionally held on the Saturday, which over the years has showcased many great names in the Japanese music industry. Something special about Fanime is that it is one of the only conventions with an actual music hall for concerts and not a converted assembly hall.
The band’s brand of music is rap/rock. They have been active for more than a dozen years and have released four albums. This is not their first time in America; BACK-ON has performed at Anime Matsuri, Anime USA, and Pacific Media Expo. They were last stateside in 2013.
Fanime is set for Memorial Day Weekend (May 22-25) at the San Jose McEeery Convention Center in California.
