The Love Live 5th Live has opened up applications for the foreigner block of the newest concert. It’s a little pricy but you get what you pay for which in this case are killer seats and a guaranteed ticket. Cutesy Japanese stuff is one of my guilty pleasures, y’see…

I was lucky enough to participate in the 4th Live’s lottery and it was well worth the money. One thing that westerners do not usually have to deal with are lotteries. This is more than just waiting in an online Ticketmaster queue. This is a straight up lottery where you can spend lots of money on entry tickets and end up with nothing. The Love Live foreigner lotteries are a GUARANTEED TICKET and if things happen with 5th Live like they did with 4th Live the seats will be great. Some were floor (lucky bastards) and I was planted in a slightly offset from center view on the lower seating levels. The group was maybe 100 yards away which for a lot of people is way closer than they’ll ever get to them.

One important detail about the foreigner lottery is that you only pay money if you win. Last time almost everyone won at least one day’s ticket with some two (I got two). If you don’t win, no money changes hand. You are also free to cancel afterward in case you are unable to go but to be honest if you are at all interested in this you should make an effort to find a way.

Act fast because the application period ends on the 13th Japan time (figure the 12th for anyone in America).
