In a couple of weeks Within Temptation will make their first appearance in San Francisco after 4 years and this time with In Flames in tow. I’ve been listening to the band for about a decade now and this is only the second time I’ll be able to see them. Welcome back!
They’re supporting their newest album, “Resist,” which has been met with mixed reviews. Personally I’m all on board with it. It might be less symphonic or orchestral than their previous efforts but it still has enough to showcase Sharon del Adel and company. The band streamed the entirety of one of their German concerts a couple of months back and all it did was make me want to see them more. I’m looking forward to “Raise Your Banner” in particular. Of course no Within Temptation show would be complete without a few songs like “Stand My Ground” and “Ice Queen.”
The SF stop is on the 18th at The Warfield and tickets are currently still available for both GA floor and balcony. I’ve seen a few shows on the balcony and honestly it isn’t bad; people might appear a little small from up top but you have a commanding view of the entire theater. Tickets are available here.
